The Grass Roots wet mill is located in the Western Highlands Provence, which, largely due the fertile volcanic soil, is the highest coffee-producing region of Papua New Guinea. The mill is owned and operated by Paul Pora. Unlike most farmers or processors in PNG Paul has an agricultural degree from a Papua New Guinea University as well as diplomas in Agricultural breeding from studying in the UK. On top of this education before starting grassroots he worked with the Coffee Research Institute in PNG. Paul uses his expertise to experiment in processes to improve quality, including starting the production of naturals, the quality of which is shown brilliantly with this coffee.
